Good Samaritan Foundation Fund Administration

Policy:

Good Samaritan Foundation policy is to solicit gifts, steward gifts and disburse them to Good Samaritan Hospital and its related entities in accordance with donor intent. Funds are to be used in a manner that supports the strategic goals of Good Samaritan Hospital.

Fund Balance Reports:

Fund Administrators will receive a fund balance report on a monthly basis. The fund balance report will include the name of the fund, name of the fund manager, the purpose and restrictions of the fund, the fund balance and any notes related to that fund.

Use of Money From Foundation Funds:

Except for special circumstances related to assistance for hospital patients, the following process must be followed to request reimbursement from a Foundation fund:

  • Item must be ordered from requesting department
  • Item must be paid by requesting department
  • After the item or service is paid and appears on the department cost center's financial reports, complete the Reimbursement Request Form which is available for download by clicking links to the right.
  • Upon receipt, funds will be transferred back to the department cost center. The transfer will appear under “Special Purpose Income”.

Good Samaritan Foundation Grant Program

Purpose:

The purpose of the Foundation’s Grant Program is to work alongside you, our internal partners, to secure and steward external grant funding for projects, programs, and initiatives at Good Samaritan Hospital and its related entities. We aim to:

  • Be a resource and partner in grant efforts that will ultimately benefit our patients and community.
  • Have a coordinated and effective external grant funding effort.
  • Grow our external grant funding support.

What is a grant?

A financial donation made to support a specific project with written, agreed upon activities, outcomes measurement, and budget. Grants are generally recognized to be gifts from a philanthropic foundation.
