"Where there is a Will, there is a Way"
1 year ago, our son, Will, was discharged from the Good Sam NICU after a long 9-week stay.
In many ways, we were the lucky ones.
We lived a few miles away from best-in-class care. We could easily get there any time of the day and night. I had just taken a job with an AMAZING employer who provided me the support and flexibility I needed.
And, even though it was COVID and our family and friends could not visit the NICU, they were there via the web portal, many phone calls and lots of texts to check in.
We felt all the love. 🥰
Many families are not as lucky as we are.
They need to travel HOURS to get Level III NICU care. They don’t have employers or jobs that provide the flexibility or support.
They have other children or family members that they need to take care of, in addition to their new baby/babies.
Steve and I started the “Where there is a Will, there is a Way” Fund at Good Sam to help support families who are struggling financially and need help with gas, food, and lodging.
There are many great causes out there. If this one resonates with you, we would love the support in honor of Will’s 1-year anniversary of coming home.
